Pre-Market Webinars begin on April 12

HIGH POINT, N.C. – (March 28, 2023) – International Market Centers (IMC) presents 20 interactive DesignOnHPMKT by IMC tours, seminars, webinars and gatherings during the April 22-26, 2023 High Point Market. The free programming – covering trends, product discovery, business education and more – includes 11 opportunities to earn CEUs.

Engaging with Three New TrendWatch Trends
Buyers can discover new and next in furnishings through a series of pre- and at-market sessions exploring IMC’s proprietary TrendWatch forecast. For Spring 2023, TrendWatch explores three new trends: Confections, a “sweet shop” of neutrals; Immersion, energetic hues; and Studio, denim blues paired with casual neutrals.

TrendWatch curator Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media presents the Spring 2023 trends via product shown by IMC exhibitors at High Point Market. The fast-paced pre-market webinar “TrendWatch: Spring 2023 Webinar” features product photos on Wednesday, April 12 at 1 p.m. EDT (registration required) (1 CEU). Vincenti expands upon her webinar presentation in “TrendWatch: Spring 2023 – LIVE at Market!,” an in-person seminar on Saturday, April 22 in the Sherwin-Williams Seminar Room (SAMS T-1022) (1 CEU). Additionally, she leads “TrendWatch Tour,” a guided 90-minute tour of the product-packed TrendWatch displays at Suites at Market Square, the Showplace Walkway, the IHFC Green Lobby and multiple points in between on Monday, April 24 at 2:30pm.

Expanded Sherwin-Williams Programming
IMC expands its partnership with celebrated paint brand Sherwin-Williams to offer additional practical and style content for buyers.

For pre-market continuing education, the “Paint 101 Webinar with Sherwin-Williams” webinar features Laurie E. Clark, Sherwin-Williams senior designer account executive, providing the fundamentals of paint systems and the latest technologies on Thursday, April 13 at 1 p.m. EDT (registration required) (1 CEU).

At High Point Market, Sherwin-Williams leads three in-person educational opportunities. For “ASID State of the Industry Report,” it gathers three designers – Lily Brown of Lily Brown Interiors in Savannah, GA; Amina Guyon of JLL, Commercial Real Estate and Divaci Interiors in Fayetteville, NC; and Marta Mitchell of MM Interior Design Group in Greensboro, NC – and ASID CEO Khoi Vo to explore its sponsored ASID 2023 Trends Report and 2023 State of Interior Design Report on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. (1 CEU). The “Sherwin-Williams Colormix® Forecast 2023: TERRA” is a deep dive into the latest color trend forecast with Samantha Noonan, Sherwin-Williams designer account executive on Sunday, April 23 at 11 a.m. (1 CEU). “Wellness Design in the Home” explores the dynamics impacting residential design in the COVID era with Rachel Moeller, Sherwin-Williams market account executive on Monday, April 24 at 1 p.m. (1 CEU).

In addition to programming, Sherwin-Williams presents the Sherwin-Williams Designer Lounge and Seminar Space gathering spaces on the Top floor of the SAMS. Also on the floor is an exhibit space staffed by designer-focused color experts presenting the Colormix® Forecast plus other Sherwin-Williams shades and a showcase of its products and services.

Exploring Best Business Practices
The Sherwin-Williams Seminar Room (SAMS T-1022) also is the stage for a full schedule of DesignOnHPMKT events.

On Sunday, April 23 more programming includes “How to Hire Your First Team Member,” a discussion of transitioning from self-employed to business owner featuring Michel Smith Boyd of SmithBoyd Interiors in Atlanta; TV Host, Interior Designer, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Breegan Jane; Nikki Klugh of Nikki Klugh Design Group in Chula Vista, Calf; and Cheryl Luckett of Dwell By Cheryl in Charlotte, N.C. in conversation with Gail Doby and Erin Weir, founders of The Pearl Collective and presented in partnership with Black Interior Designers, Inc. at 1 p.m. (1 CEU). Following the seminar at 2 p.m., Black Interior Designers, Inc. hosts the “BID Inc. Networking Reception.” In “Science in Design–Validate Your Design Services with Science!,” three designers – Angela Harris of TRIO in Denver, Gabrielle Kozhukh-Joo of Mindwell Design in Toronto and Lisa Staprans of Staprans Designs in Portola Valley Calf. – share how they have turned to science to help them better understand the impact of beauty and fine design on the health of clients in a conversation with Mike Peterson, co-founder of the Science in Design Certification program at 3:30 p.m. (1 CEU).

On Monday, April 24, additional events include “Business of Design®: It’s Payday with Kimberley Seldon” offering a plan for designers to break the six-figure salary barrier led by the business coach and advocate-in-chief at 11 a.m. (1 CEU). The DISC method of effective communication is the focus of “DISCover the Impact of Effective Communication” with Sierra Collins of the Sierra Learnership Collaborative at 3 p.m. (1 CEU).

On Tuesday, April 25, “Leveraging your Professional Photography (The Legal Way)” features interior photographers Krista Cox, Toni Lovejoy and Abigail Jackson and copyright lawyer David Deal discussing professional photography and how to maximize photos legally in at 11 a.m. (1 CEU).

Uncovering New Opportunities Through Tours
DesignOnHPMKT by IMC’s hallmark tours are opportunities to learn and explore in Spring 2023.

Four tours highlight key categories in IMC’s High Point Market offerings. The one-hour “Made In America Tour” features Lisa Davenport of LDD Interiors in Middlefield, Conn. sharing her favorite American-made resources on Saturday, April 22 at 11 a.m. Chris Goddard, founder of Goddard Design Group in Springdale, Ark. and star of HGTV’s “Design Star: Next Gen” leads a two-part exploration of IMC’s lighting resources with the one-hour “Lighting Highlights Tour with Chris Goddard – Part 1” on Sunday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. and one-hour “Lighting Highlights Tour with Chris Goddard – Part 2” on Monday, April 24 at 12:30 p.m. “Home Decor Highlights Tour with Evette Rios” features the TV host, lifestyle expert, interior designer, cooking and crafting expert giving a 90-minute tour through IMC’s home decor resources in on Sunday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. Registrations are required for all tours at IMCHighPointMarket.com/product-highlight-tours.

The popular Suite Spot tours of the three-floor Suites at Market Square (SAMS) temporary offerings return in Spring 2023 with three one-hour tours.
