IMC Reorganizes Events Sales and Operations Division to Drive Future Growth of Convention Facilities
Focus is on New Event Opportunities at EXPO at WMCLV,
Atlanta Convention Center and High Point
ATLANTA / LAS VEGAS / HIGH POINT, N.C. – (June 18, 2021) – International Market Centers (IMC) has announced a series of promotions in its Events Sales and Operations division, aimed at building business and increasing usage of its convention and meeting spaces – including the Atlanta Convention Center and the new EXPO at World Market Center Las Vegas.
“The reorganization of IMC’s Events Sales and Operations division allows IMC to more actively sell and market our exposition facilities as the premier space for both large- and small-scale events,” said IMC CEO Bob Maricich. “These promotions recognize the hard work and tremendous achievements of our talented IMC team and lay the foundation for the return and growth of in-person events hosted by IMC as well as by other third-party groups.”
Bob Schuler is promoted to Senior Vice President, Event Sales and Operations. In his new role, Schuler adds responsibility for tradeshow operations in High Point and Las Vegas to his existing responsibilities of overseeing and accelerating business for the Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart. His responsibilities also now include at-market food and beverage operations and amenities plus all outside event sales and operations. In all three cities, he will continue to represent IMC in relationships with convention and visitor bureaus, hotels and airline partners. Schuler has 10 years of service with IMC.
“Bob has assumed a tremendous amount of responsibility over the past year. His leadership, results-oriented attitude, and ability to motivate his exceptional team will make a major impact on IMC’s at-market and year-round business in Atlanta, High Point and Las Vegas,” said Greg Avitabile, IMC executive vice president of Operations.
Jennifer Muna is promoted to Vice President, Event Sales and Operations. In addition to her responsibility for sales and operation of The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas, Muna now assumes management responsibility for tradeshow, food and beverage and amenity operations during the High Point and Las Vegas Markets. Additionally, she will serve as a liaison to city officials, hotel partners and convention and visitor bureaus in both Las Vegas and High Point. Muna has been with IMC for nearly four years, serving as an integral member of the team that oversaw the construction and opening of the Expo at WMCLV. She reports to Schuler.
“Jen is talented on so many levels, and we’re really fortunate to have her on our team,” said Avitabile. “She has taken the reigns during a challenging time and is creating favorable outcomes for IMC and our customers.”
Joel Weston is promoted to Manager, Tradeshow Operations. Weston assumes responsibility for executing tradeshow operations and will assist with amenities and food and beverage operations at IMC’s 17 High Point properties. Weston has been at IMC for five years. He reports to Muna.
“Joel is a consummate team player with a positive attitude, an unwavering commitment to customer service and a proven track record of producing successful results. He has been integral to the success of managing tradeshow operations across the vast High Point campus,” said Avitabile.
